Birthday Parties!

Leave the party planning to us! ​North Bay Museum offers birthday parties programmed for children from 4 to 12 years old. The staff will lead crafts and activities in a theme of your child's choice and take the group on a tour of our galleries.

​Parties run year round, book your child's birthday party before time runs out. Reservations must be made a minimum of two weeks in advance.


Birthday Package ($200 + hst)

  • Up to 12 youth and 6 adult guests (additional guests extra)

  • One hour of programming with museum staff and one hour gallery space rental

  • Tables and chairs

  • 12 invitations

  • Themed decorations (streamers, balloons, banner)

  • Staff-led games and activities

  • Museum access

  • Free wifi

  • Loot bags available at $5/guest

  • Additional guests $15 each

  • Tickets for Heritage Railway and Carousel group rate of $1.60 per ride (May to August)

Birthday Themes

  • Retro Rave (Ages 6 and up)*BRAND NEW!

    • Celebrate a pixel-perfect birthday with retro video game consoles, themed decorations, and video game activities! This theme lengthens the party time to 3 hours, allowing greater time to play, compete, and shoot for high scores!

    • *Retro Rave is $400 for the programming, video game consoles, and an additional hour (3 hours total)

  • Mad Science (Ages 6-12) *NEW!

    • A birthday party for your very own scientist! Guests will enjoy becoming mad scientists for the day. This birthday party will have guests participate in a fun science experiment they can take home!

  • Fire Fighters (Ages 4-10)

    • A birthday party fit for a firefighter! A firefighter theme that connects to our firefighter exhibit. This birthday party will include a fun firefighter themed scavenger hunt where guests search the museum to put out the fires!

  • Child’s Play (Ages 4-8)

    • Children will explore old fashioned games and activities of early settlers, such as spoon races; duck, duck, goose; what time is it, Mr. Wolf?; and, three-legged races.  We will also bring out some old fashioned toys to play with - no batteries included!

  • Trains, Planes, & Automobiles (Ages 6-12)

    • All aboard! Come to the train station to learn about the early days of travel. Learn to fold a paper plane and see whose can fly the farthest! Children will also have a chance to make a popsicle stick airplane to take home. 

  • Museum Mystery (Ages 6-12)

    • Children will solve clues and riddles to complete a fun scavenger hunt that will take them throughout the museum. At the end of the hunt, they will find a secret package that has been hidden for them!

  • Pony Parade (Ages 4-10)

    • Prance around like a pony and let the magic of the Carousel horses come alive! Create a pony/unicorn themed craft and horse around with a few fun party games.

Want to power-up your birthday party? Add a retro video game package from Real Retro Rentals! Each birthday package brings a bevy of video game classics to enjoy during any birthday theme you’d like, plus an additional hour to play them. Packages include:

  • Pixel Party (Birthday Party A) - $175 + HST added to base birthday rate

    • 8 simultaneous players 

    • Consoles: Atari 7800, NES (Duck Hunt), Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo, N64

  • Bonus Blast (Birthday Party B) - $200 + HST added to base birthday rate
