“Rock Star”  (1962)
Submitted by: Liz Hennessy Duffy

Jerry Hennessy played guitar in the Chippewa Secondary School band, as well as many other bands around North Bay. Here he is shown playing in the CSS gym. He passed away at the young age of 32 from complications from juvenile diabetes. Despite this, he made his mark as a musician in the North Bay area.

Arlie Hoffman’s Comments
Since I love music, I truly admire any young person who pursues this great art form. On first view, I thought of Buddy Holly and his connection with the youth of his time. This young musician Jerry Hennessy reflects the effort needed to excel as an individual performer or part of a band. Whatever the pursuit, to experience music serves as a tonic for the soul.
