“Nipissing University is situated on the traditional territory of Nipissing First Nation, and within the Robinson-Huron Treaty of 1850. We also acknowledge the nearby Anishinaabeg communities of Dokis First Nation and Temagami First Nation.” Nipissing University is an inclusive campus that prides itself on identity as well as diversity. This image showcases an indigenous graduation ceremony.

It highlights the importance of indigenous history and heritage within the university setting. The Office of Aboriginal Initiatives is a critical part of Nipissing University in acting as an accommodating, inclusive and knowledge department to help teach students more about Anishinaabeg history and culture.

Graduation itself is a time all students look forward to since the beginning of their admittance into post-secondary. This picture shows an Indigenous graduating class celebrating together in their final days of schooling at Nipissing.
